Abstract. – This article represents the dialogue of the Šibenik humanist and diplomat Antun Vrančić with his brother Mihovil, evidenced in li­te­ra­tu­re under the title De itinere et legatione sua Constantinopolitana Antonii Ve­rantii cum fratre suo Michaele dialogus, fragmentum. It involves Vran­čić’s record which aimed to describe the ambassador’s journey to Sultan Su­leiman the Magnificent, in the form of dialogue, popular during hu­ma­ni­sm, in order to achieve the Habsburg-Ottoman peace in dispute over the po­si­tion of Transylvania. Since only a fragment of the dialogue has been pre­ser­ved, the parts which would describe the stages of the journey and the arrival in Istanbul are missing. Apart from the description of the ma­nu­script and the content of the preserved fragment, the article also brings a cri­t­ical edition of the dialogue.
